Please fill in the New Patient Intake questionnaire below before attending your first appointment.

Therapeutic Momentum:

In order to make progress this also requires a commitment from you that you will attend regular appointments.

Appointment costs

How long will the appointment be?

Your first appointment may take about 40 – 60 minutes, depending on the complexity of your problems.

Subsequent appointments are generally much shorter.

How much will it cost?

It depends on the length of the consultation. As a general rule:
The first consult might be between $265 – $340 depending on the duraiton and complexity.

You can get a Medicare rebate  of approximately $118 if the initial appointment is in person.

Subsequent consults, if shorter will be substantially cheaper but again, it depends on the duration and complexity.

When do I pay?

Appointments are paid with cash or credit card on the day

Treatment and testing costs

Cost of tests

Some blood tests and some imaging ( X-rays etc) will be covered by Medicare but others are not. Dr Gull will discuss these costs with you.

Cost of treatments

Medical cannabis and supplement costs are not covered by Medicare / PBS. In other words, you will have to pay for them yourself.

Is Bulk Billing available?

In general, no.

However you can access a Medicare rebate for up to twelve months after having seen Dr Gull in person, even for telehealth appointments.

If a review or follow-up appointment is especially “quick and easy”, there MAY be no out of pocket cost.

The Medicare rebate is not sufficient to cover the costs of running the practice, hence the need for a gap payment.

Please bring your Medicare card. This will be used to access the Medicare rebate so that you will only be required to pay the gap  although this may need to be repaid to your account from Medicare.

For further information please speak with our reception staff.

What is Bulk Billing?

When a doctor bulk bills you, you don’t pay anything. You probably already know that bit! The doctor then receives from Medicare a certain amount relative to the time and complexity of the consultation. And nothing more. The amount that Medicare pays the doctor, the “rebate”, may or may not be sufficient for the doctor. The doctor can choose to charge no more than the rebate or as much as they wish, in the same way that any other service provider can charge for their service.

Does Gull do Skype or phone appointments?

Yes, he does. Unfortunately, Medicare provides no rebate for such consultations, so you will need to pay the whole fee yourself.

First appointments must be done in person, unless you wish to merely meet and get an idea of how Gull works. If you’d like to meet and get an idea of how Gull works, please book a short, 15 minute appointment. This will cost $90.

Once every 3-6 months, if you continue to consult with Gull, you will need to have an in-person appointment. Please let us know when you book that you will not be coming in person to the next appointment. When your appointment time comes, please let us know you are ready, in much the same way as you would approach reception in our practice. Gull will then be able to attend to you as soon as possible.

Skype address?

Please make sure that Gull knows your Skype address. His is doctor_gull
